Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts Program at Wyomissing Public Library

From Wyomissing Public Library

Pennsylvanians for Modern Courts (PMC) is a state-wide non-profit organization whose mission is “to educate all Pennsylvanians about our courts and how to navigate them with confidence, provide resources to make that possible for all residents of the Commonwealth, and advocate for judicial reforms that promote inclusion and access to justice.” One of the methods PMC uses to fulfill its mission is through a series of workshops on court-related topics in different community settings, including public libraries.

On Tuesday, April 15, PMC will present a program at the Wyomissing Public Library on the subject of  “Threats to the Independence of Pennsylvania’s Judiciary.” Judicial independence is critical to democracy. This program will focus on the various threats and challenges faced by our judicial system and how concerned citizens can take action to defend its independence.

This free and public program will begin at 5:30 p.m. Deborah Gross, Esq., CEO of PMC, and Gabriela Raful, Esq., former president of the Berks  County Bar Association and senior partner at Galfand Berger, will be the speakers. Refreshments will be available.

The Wyomissing Public Library is located at 9 Reading Blvd. in Wyomissing. Registration is requested. Visit www.wyopublib.org to register or call the library at 610-374-2385.
