PY2024 CDBG Action Plan Amendment – City Sidewalk Program Notice

Notice is hereby given that on June 10, 2024, the Council of the City of Reading will consider the following amendment to the PY2024 CDBG Action Plan.

To approve or deny a Council Resolution authorizing the Mayor to execute a PY2024 CDBG Action Plan Amendment. $400,000 in unprogrammed CDBG funds will be allocated for the sidewalk improvement activity.

The locations of the sidewalks that will be completed in the next three years: 300 to 400 block Bell Al, 400 block Bingaman Ct, 300 to 900 block Bingaman St, 300 block Calls Ct, 000 to 300 block Carpenter St, 200 to 500 block Chapel Tc, 400 block Cherry St, 900 to 1000 block Cherry St, 800 to 1000 block Culvert St, 900 block E Laurel St, 1900 block Fairview Av, 1300 to 1900 block Fairview St, 1000 block Fehrs Ct, 400 block Gilson Al, 500 block Heine St, 1300 block Kenney St, 100 block Lemon St, 1100 block Little Cherry St, 000 block Little Wunder St, 100 block Maitland St, 000 to 200 block Maple St, 400  to 600 block Maple St, 400 block Market Al, 800 block Master St, 700 block Mcilvain St, 300 block Miller St, 300 to 600 block Minor St, 800 to 1700 block Muhlenberg St, 700 block Neversink Al, 000 to 100 block Neversink St, 000 to 400 block Orange St, 100 block Peach St, 100 to 400 block Pearl St, 300 to 400 block Pine St, 600 block Pine St, 100 to 200 block Plum St, 400 block Printz St, 400 block Rehr St, 100 to 500 block S 12th St, 200 to 500 block S 13th St, 400 to 500 block S 14 1/2 St, 400 to 500 block S 14th St, 500 to 600 block S 15 1/2 St, 400 to 500 block S 15th St, 500 to 600 block S 16 1/2 St, 400 to 600 block S 16th St, 500 to 600 block S 17 1/2 St, 400 to 700 block S 17th St, 500 to 600 block S 18 1/2 St, 400 to 600 block S 18th St, 400 to 700 block S 19th St, 100 to 600 block S 7th St, 600 block South St, 800 to 1300 block South St, 300 to 400 block Spring Garden St, 500 to 600 block Strong Al, 300 block Water St, 1100 to 1200 block Weimer St, 1000 block White House Rd, 500 to 600 block Willow St, 100 to 400 block Wood St, 1900 block Woodvale Av, and 100 to 500 block Wunder St.

Each sidewalk’s service area contains at least 51% low- and moderate-income level persons and is predominately residential.

The activity’s eligibility/fundability is public facilities and improvements 24CFR570.201(c)/low mod area 24CFR570.208 (a)(1).
