Reading Civic Theatre, 4350 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township, will hold its 15th annual Celebration of the Arts Scholarship Competition on Feb. 8 from 6-10 p.m.
The event will feature 10 vocalists from Berks County junior and senior high schools competing for up to $2,250 in scholarships.
The finalists are Sienna Brown, Twin Valley; Ryan Claudfelter, Exeter; Faith Constein, Antietam; Hayden Crist, homeschooled; Chloe Kantner, Berks Catholic; Emily Leiboff, Wilson; Kaitlin McClain, Antietam; Josue Tinoco, Muhlenberg; Gracie Torres, Schuylkill Valley; and Abigayle Witinski, Schuylkill Valley.
The event will feature assorted food provided by various area restaurants, desserts, entertainment, raffle items and a cash bar.
Attire is dressy casual and all tickets must be purchased online using a credit card. Adult guests (over 18) are $55 and includes all fees. Teen and child guests are $35. Go to readingcivic.org to order your tickets.
Music
The Penn State College of Arts and Architecture, in cooperation with the Reading Symphony Orchestra League, will present “Know Your Symphony Lecture Series” on Jan. 22 at 7:30 p.m. at The Highlands, 2000 Cambridge Ave, Wyomissing.
The lecturer will be David Whitehill, executive director of the Reading Symphony Orchestra.
