Eagles receiver Jahan Dotson came up big early for his team in Super Bowl 59, making a key catch that led to the first points of the game for the Birds.
Dotson reeled in a 28-yard pass from quarterback Jalen Hurts that was initially ruled a touchdown. However, on replay it was ruled Dotson was just short of the goalline.
On the next play, Hurts scored the touchdown on a quarterback sneak.
The former Nazareth Area High School and Penn State star has been the Eagles’ third wide receiver this season behind A.J. Brown and Davonta Smith.
Throw in the fact that quarterback Jalen Hurts also uses tight end Dallas Goedert and superstar running back Saquon Barkley in the passing game, Dotson had few chances this season to shine.
He had only 19 catches during the regular season for 216 yards and no touchdowns, but played a bigger role in the Packers in the first round of the playoffs, catching an 11-yard touchdown in the 22-10 win.
Now in his third season, and first with the Eagles, Dotson was a first round draft pick of the Washington Commanders coming out of Penn State. The commanders traded him to the Eagles before this season.
