Theory of a Deadman, Skillet bringing tour to Reading’s Santander Arena [Spotlight]

Two titans of rock, Theory of a Deadman and Skillet, have announced the co-headlining Rock Resurrection Tour, with support from Saint Asonia, which will make a stop at Santander Arena, Reading, on Feb. 24. Tickets are on sale at www.theoryofficial.com and www.skillet.com.

“We’re super stoked to be touring with our good friends in Skillet and Saint Asonia this winter,” shares Theory of a Deadman’s frontman Tyler Connolly. “We’re also really looking forward to playing new material for our fans!!”

“We are so excited to be touring with our friends from Theory again!,” says Skillet’s John Cooper. “It’s been several years since our last tour together, and this time we are also joined by our friends in Saint Asonia. We are looking forward to kicking off 2023 the right way by joining forces for a super-charged rock show! Panheads get ready!”

Skillet is one of the best-selling rock bands of the 21st century. By 2019, they not only garnered a pair of Grammy Award nods and sold over 12 million albums worldwide, but they also took home a Billboard Music Award for the double-platinum “Awake.” Its breakout single, “Monster,” is 5 times platinum and remains one of the most-streamed rock songs of all-time.

Their 2019 release “Victorious” included the Top 10 rock radio hit “Legendary,” which lived up to its name with over 108 million streams. To date, nine original tunes earned RIAA recognition in tandem with high-profile syncs by everyone from WWE and Marvel to ESPN and NFL.

Theory of a Deadman — Tyler Connolly (lead vocals, guitar), Dave Brenner (guitar, backing vocals)], Dean Back (bass), and Joey Dandeneau (drums, backing vocals) — have quietly persisted as an unapologetic, unbreakable and undeniable hard rock force with major multi-platinum hits and countless sold out shows in each of the past two decades.

The band burst out of their small Canadian hometown with the self-titled album in 2002. In addition to the double-platinum breakthrough album “Scars & Souvenirs” (2008) and gold-certified “The Truth Is …” (2011), Theory have notched a procession of hits, including the gold-certified “All Or Nothing,” “Bitch Came Back” and “Lowlife,” platinum-certified “Angel,” “Hate My Life” and “Not Meant To Be,” double-platinum “Bad Girlfriend,” and triple-platinum “RX (Medicate).”

Studio B Fine Art Gallery, 39A E. Philadelphia Ave., Boyertown, announces the opening of “Luminous: Shining Light Especially in the Darkness,” on Friday, Dec. 2, from 4 to 8 p.m. during Boyertown’s annual holiday open house tour. An awards ceremony will be held between 6 and 7 p.m.

The annual exhibit, which runs through Jan. 22, showcases dozens of local artists and offers an array of styles.

“‘Luminous’ will showcase our artists’ best works and talents,” said Studio B director Susan Biebuyck. “This exhibit is another opportunity for the many talented people who have graced our walls to exhibit and for us to celebrate their artistic accomplishments. We want to ease our community into the darker months by focusing on the incredible talents of our local artists that ‘light up’ our lives.”

Juror for the exhibit is Jaap Vanliere. Vanliere is a longtime Boyertown area resident, private art dealer in contemporary art in New York City, collector and avid gardener.

“Even in tough economic times, art is an investment and a gift bringing joy and hope to both the giver and the receiver,” Biebuyck noted. “This December exhibit is a special annual event for us. We opened our doors for the first time in conjunction with Boyertown’s Holiday Open House Tour in 2008. As part of the Holiday House Tour, we were introduced to hundreds of visitors to Studio B that evening and look forward to hundreds every year during this annual community celebration!”

The studio is open on Saturdays and Sundays, noon to 2 p.m., during classes, by chance or appointment by calling 484-332-2757 or 610-563-7879. Visit studiobbb.org for more information.
