Twin Valley senior Lucas Biegel named November Intern of the Month

Twin Valley High School senior Lucas Biegel has been named Twin Valley’s November Intern of the Month.

At his internship at Tel Hai Retirement Community in the IT Department, Biegel is responsible for helping to take care of the residents’ needs and complaints regarding technology, as well as learning how to manage such a large-scale network, alongside mentor and Twin Valley alumnus Tim Kaiser, Tel Hai’s director of IT.

Biegel has long since known that he wanted a career that was tech-involved due to his longstanding love for computers. Last January, Twin Valley Internship Program coordinator Gwen Werner provided him with the opportunity at Tel Hai, and Biegel has since determined that he does want to pursue a career in IT, more specifically in penetration testing.

During his internship, Biegel does a lot of hands-on work and recently has been helping to complete a campus-wide upgrade in the community’s wireless network. He said that he has been learning all of the tools and skills needed to have a career in IT and within his remaining time at Tel Hai, he hopes to jumpstart his future in IT even further.

His internship mentor, Tim Kaiser, was in the exact same spot having also interned at Tel Hai when he was a student at Twin Valley High School, and did so with the director of IT at the time. Kaiser later returned to Tel Hai where he took over the position.

“It was a great experience having interned at Tel Hai with the director of IT back when I was in high school through Twin Valley’s Internship Program,” said Kaiser. “I’m grateful that I can mentor students like Lucas from the same school I went to, all while passing on some of what I’ve learned over the years.”
