Unique Snacks expands presence in airports

While Unique Snacks has been a part of the food scene in Berks County for decades, travelers passing through airports across the country are beginning to get an opportunity to try the Muhlenberg Township company’s Splits and Shells while on the go.

In a press release, Unique said it is expanding the availability of its snacks in major airports and hubs “to fuel busy on-the-go travelers who may experience increased layovers.”

Through an expanded relationship with Albertsons Companies, passengers and pilots alike can swing by Balducci’s Food Lover’s Market located in Philadelphia International Airport in Terminal C near Gate C20 to pick up large and snack size packages of Unique Snacks’ Original Splits.

Unique says it has worked with several of the largest specialty retailers that operate innovative stores in airports across the nation, including Paradies Lagardère and OTG. Through the expansion with Albertson Companies, Unique Snacks’ signature pretzels will now be available in more than 46 of the nation’s busiest airports.

“With all the changing regulations resulting from the pandemic and the delta variant, our partnerships with Albertson Companies and other businesses that operate specialty retailers in airports across the nation, enables us to assure busy travelers can enjoy their favorite healthy snacks on-the-go,” said Justin Spannuth, vice president and chief operating officer at Unique Snacks, in a statement. “We look forward to working with our partners to offer a greater variety of our all natural, healthy snacks to more travelers in additional locations.”
