Wilson grads Justin Weller, Kaleb Brown receive awards at Penn State football banquet

Senior wide receiver Justin Weller, a Wilson graduate, received two awards Sunday night at the annual Penn State football banquet.

Weller was named one of the Nittany Lions’ two outstanding walk-ons, presented to the non-scholarship player who exemplifies total commitment, loyalty, hard work and courage. Safety Sebastian Costantini was the other recipient.

Weller also received the Nittany Lion Club Academic Achievement Award, presented to the senior with the highest grade-point average.

Freshman safety Kaleb Wilson, another Wilson graduate, was named the Scout Team Special Teams Player of the Year.

Senior wide receiver Jahan Dotson was chosen the overall Most Valuable Player and the Offensive MVP. Senior safety Jaquan Brisker was selected the Defensive MVP.

Many other awards were presented. Among them were:

Lions’ Pride Award (greatest career contribution): Sean Clifford.

Ridge Riley Award (sportsmanship, scholarship, leadership and friendship): P.J. Mustipher.

Dick Maginnis Award (outstanding offensive lineman): Juice Scruggs.

Bob Mitinger Award (exhibiting courage, character and social responsibility): Jesse Luketa and Eric Wilson.

Reid-Robinson Award (outstanding defensive lineman): Arnold Ebiketie.

John Bruno Award (outstanding special teams player): Jordan Stout.

Tim Shaw Thrive Award (overcoming adversity and being an inspiration to teammates): Noah Cain and Nick Tarburton.

Keystone Award (being a foundation of the program): Jesse Luketa and Derrick Tangelo.
