WPL Bus Trip to National Book Festival

The Wyomissing Public Library invites area residents to come along on a one-day bus trip to the National Book Festival in Washington, D.C.

The Library of Congress 2024 National Book Festival will take place on Saturday, Aug. 24, in Washington, D.C. The free event, which is open to the public, is scheduled to take place at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

The round-trip cost of the bus is $75 per person; WPL Association Members will receive a $10 discount. The 50-seat bus will leave Wyomissing at 6:30 a.m. and arrive at the Convention Center around 9:45 a.m. The bus will leave Washington at 5:30 p.m., arriving back in Wyomissing around 9 p.m. Meals are not included in the ticket price.

The deadline for reservations is Saturday, July 20. Payment should be made be made by cash or check or online at www.wyopublib.org.

Authors appearing at the festival include Tomi Adeyemi, author of the trilogy Legacy of Orisha, David Baldacci, graphic novelist, Vera Brosgol, Sandra Cisneros, opera singer and arts advocate, Renee Fleming, Erik Larson, Doris Kearns Goodwin, James McBride, and many, many more.
