Berks County’s nonprofit leaders can earn a Nonprofit Management Certificate by participating in a 10-month professional development opportunity designed exclusively for full-time paid nonprofit executive directors and high-potential staff members.

The cycle and deadline for applications into the cohort program is June 24, 2024, through July 22, 2024. Decisions will be made by Aug. 9, 2024.

The program is hosted by Berks County Community Foundation in partnership with The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University.

The program includes:

  • Three group lunches at the Community Foundation.
  • Six day-long in-person nonprofit management classes led by faculty members from The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University, all held at the Community Foundation’s office in Reading, with breakfast and lunch provided.
  • Three nonprofit management webinars led by faculty members from The Nonprofit Center at LaSalle University joined from your home or office.

“The program is designed to help local nonprofit leaders improve or renew their management and leadership skills close to home,” said Kim Sheffer, Lifelong Learning Program Officer at the Community Foundation.

Each nonprofit is asked to contribute $500 for participation in the program.

This professional development opportunity is designed exclusively for Berks County’s nonprofit executive directors and high-potential staff members. Note that Berks County Community Foundation is not an accredited educational institution but rather a nonprofit that seeks to bring professional development opportunities to the community for local leaders.

The cohort is capped at 20 participants. The complete schedule, curriculum, and application are available by visiting bccf.org
