Exeter grad Michal Menet re-signs with Cardinals practice squad

Former Exeter and Penn State offensive lineman Michal Menet has re-signed with the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, the team announced Wednesday.

Menet was one of three offensive linemen the Cardinals signed to the practice squad, along with Danny Isidora and Shaq Calhoun. Menet and Calhoun were with the Cardinals throughout training camp and the preseason.

The 6-4, 301-pound Menet was a three-year starter at center for the Nittany Lions. He was selected by the Cardinals in the seventh round of the NFL draft in May.

He was released prior to the final cuts and then signed to the practice squad on Sept. 3. He was released from the practice squad on Sept. 9.

Since then, Menet worked out for the New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals. The Green Bay Packers contacted him earlier this week.

The Cardinals have had several injuries on the offensive line, according to the team’s website.

Justin Pugh and Justin Murray are uncertain to play against the Los Angeles Rams this weekend after suffering back injuries against Jacksonville on Sunday. Kelvin Beachum, who missed practice time last week, also might be out because of a rib injury.

With Beachum sidelined, the Cardinals moved Josh Jones, who played the first two games at right guard, to right tackle.

When Murray got hurt against the Jaguars, Max Garcia entered the game. Then Pugh was injured on Jacksonville’s 109-yard return of a missed field goal, pressing Sean Harlow, who had just been promoted from the practice squad, into action.
