Exeter grad Michal Menet released from Arizona Cardinals practice squad

Michal Menet, the former Exeter and Penn State offensive lineman, has been released from the practice squad by the Arizona Cardinals.

The team did not announce the move, which was made Tuesday. It’s listed under transactions on the team’s website.

Menet was selected in the seventh round of the NFL draft by the Cardinals in May. The 6-4, 301-pound Menet was a three-year starter at center for the Nittany Lions. He was released prior to final cuts, then signed to the 17-player practice squad on Sept. 3.

He was let go to make room for Eric Smith, a 6-4, 308-pound offensive tackle who played two games for the New York Giants in 2019 and one game for the Dallas Cowboys last season. The University of Virginia product was released by Dallas in August. Smith, who began his NFL career as an undrafted free agent in 2017, also has been with the Miami Dolphins, New England Patriots and New York Jets.
