Former KU running back Craig Reynolds promoted again to Detroit Lions active roster

Six days after his career-best performance against Denver, former Kutztown University standout Craig Reynolds has earned another week on the Detroit Lions’ active roster.

Detroit elevated Reynolds, a running back, from the practice squad to the active roster on Saturday ahead of its Week 15 game against Arizona. Kickoff is set for Sunday at 1 p.m.

In his first season with the Lions, Reynolds made his regular season debut in Week 14 and led the team in rushing in their 38-10 loss to the Broncos. He ran the ball 11 times for 83 yards and caught two passes for 16 yards, all of which are career bests.

Reynolds split first-team reps with fellow running back Jermar Jefferson at Detroit’s practice on Thursday, according to CBS Sports. Running backs Jamaal Williams and D’Andre Swift have both been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Cardinals.

After taking a redshirt year in 2014, Reynolds played for the Golden Bears from 2015-18 and was a three-time All-PSAC East first-team selection. Now in his third NFL season, the Willow Grove native went undrafted before signing with Washington as a free agent in 2019.
