Twin Valley High School hosts Day of Music on May 21

Twin Valley High School’s music department will host its second annual Day of Music festival on May 21 from noon to 6:30 p.m.

The day will feature performances from the department’s instrumental and choral ensembles. Performances from extracurricular ensembles are also to participate, such as the Twin Valley High School Select Chorus and Indoor Percussion.

However, this isn’t just an ordinary high school spring concert. Unlike concerts in the past, the festival will showcase professional performers from Berks and Chester counties that will perform all day alongside the Twin Valley musicians to make the event a day filled with music.

Additionally, The Twin Valley Music Boosters, a volunteer organization of student musicians’ parents, will sell refreshments and musical merchandise alongside the festival’s newest inclusion, vendor tables from businesses around the community, school and beyond.

“The Day of Music festival is not solely about our school and its musical accomplishments, but our surrounding community. The best way as a community to bind ourselves and become stronger is to support every detail of our youth. Music is one of those key details,” said high school senior and musician Heather Anderson.

“The committee behind the Day of Music is a committee to be proud of. It consists of passionate teachers, students, and parents. The vendors attending are extremely talented crafters, and we are fortunate to work with them,” continued Anderson.

“As for our Music Boosters, I can personally say we would be nowhere without them,” said Anderson. “They provide the backbone for our opportunities and want to support us in our endeavors.”

Anderson looks forward to the growth that will happen on Day of Music in the future, even if she is not around to witness it personally.

Chorus president Jenna DiFabrizio added that this day is not just for students, it is for the community.

“It’s a chance for local performers and businesses to be seen and heard in one place,” said DiFabrizio. “We also have to thank all of our music teachers, because they are the ones who help us do what we love!”

The high school’s music department invites everyone in the Tri-County community to attend this musical celebration on Sunday, May 21, from noon to 6:30 p.m. on the Twin Valley High School campus.
