Jonathan Majors to star as Dennis Rodman in new movie about infamous trip to Las Vegas

Jonathan Majors’ next turn will be as “The Worm.”

The “Creed III” and “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” star has been cast as Dennis Rodman in a new movie about the enigmatic NBA star’s infamous trip to Las Vegas in the middle of the Chicago Bulls’ 1997-98 championship run.

Rodman’s trip was recounted in “The Last Dance,” a 10-part documentary about that Bulls season. In it, NBA legend Michael Jordan reportedly rousted Rodman away from Sin City to return to the team.

During a recent interview with the Associated Press, Majors talked about the upcoming project.

“Hopefully, I get to sit with him and chat with him when we get closer and [are] trying to get the script right,” Majors said. “I never really put a ceiling on myself, but this is definitely a role where I’m pushing that ceiling out. Because he demands that. He’s such a full individual, so he’s going to demand a lot and I have to figure out how to get that.”

Rodman is listed as an executive producer for the movie, tentatively titled “48 Hours in Vegas,” along with Phil Lord and Chris Miller. No release date has been set.

“There’s only one Dennis Rodman. In 1998, there was nobody on Earth who’d be more fun — or maybe more dangerous — to party with. And yet that’s not even half of who he is,” said Lionsgate’s Nathan Kahane, the president of the film’s distributor.

“This movie takes you on an unforgettable ride with the myth, the legend, and also the man that Dennis is, behind everything you think you know,” he added. “[His] amazing career and life will make for an off-the-wall hilarious yet completely human and emotional movie. You think you know anything about ‘The Worm’? Just you wait!”
