BB&T Bank volunteers spruce up Oley Library

The Oley Library was the proud recipient of the BB&T Bank Lighthouse Project. Volunteers from local BB&T branches came to the Oley library, removed old shelving and installed brand new shelving that they purchased for us. They also cleaned the library from top to bottom, taking every book off of every shelf and dusting the entire library!

Royal Wedding Watch Party at Kutztown Community Library

What do gorgeous hats, delicate china cups and saucers, feathered fascinators, cucumber sandwiches, crowns, Corgis, British bunting, wedding cakes and tea all have in common? A royal celebration.

Kutztown Community Library hosted a Royal Wedding Watch Party on May 19, which was attended by 21 women, men and children from the community who gathered to celebrate and watch the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle.

Department of Labor recognizes Shoemakersville brick manufacturer for excellence in workplace safety

The U.S. Department of Labor’s Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has certified Glen-Gery Brick’s Mid-Atlantic Plant as a “Star” worksite in the Agency’s Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP), the highest level of recognition for workplace safety and health excellence.

Over the past three years, the Shoemakersville brick manufacturer recorded an injury and illness rate 21 percent below the industry’s national average.
