Cedar Grove hosts Blessing of the Cycles Sunday Benefit Ride

Cedar Grove Presbyterian Church will have a Blessing of the Cycles service on Sunday, June 10. Worship will begin at 10 a.m. We will provide a lunch at 11:30 a.m. Kick Stands are up at 12:30 p.m.

Cycle ride will be a benefit ride for “4OurKids – Carol Stark Foundation”. Motorcycles will leave from Cedar Grove

“4OurKids” works in conjunction with 3 school districts, Ephrata, Cocalico, and Garden Spot.

Mr. Twin Valley pageant raises nearly $3K for Hope Rescue Mission

Twin Valley High School’s Student Council hosted the annual Mr. Twin Valley pageant to raise money for the Hope Rescue Mission.

Held May 10 at Twin Valley High School, the event raised nearly $3,000 for Hope Rescue Mission.

The evening was anticipated by much of the student body and enjoyed by all who attended.

PERSON TO PERSON – IMPACT: No Longer With Us, But Still Teaching

Kids must listen to their parents! That’s the only way learning will take place.NOT! Occasionally over the years when I have written a column, I have mentioned our oldest son, Greg, who died of an undisclosed heart ailment at the age of 23. This May he would have turned 43. Most years we have celebrated his life by going out as a family for dinner around the time he went to be with the Lord (April) or his birthday (May).

The Porkroll Project kicks off summer concert series in Honey Brook Borough

The FREE Concert in the Park series will kick off on Sunday, June 3 at 5:30 pm, when The Porkroll Project takes the stage, performing for the second time in Honey Brook Borough Park. The Porkroll Project hails from the greater Philadelphia area and are a hard rocking blues band who play a high energy blend of fresh covers and originals.

Honey Brook Community Partnership awards grants to civic organizations

The Honey Brook Community Partnership held its 10th Annual Social Gathering and 1st Community Grants Program on April 26 at the Long Way Home Grill and Pub. The Partnership’s 2018 Community Grants were presented to various non-profit organizations serving the Honey Brook Community, which includes the Borough, Township and surrounding area.

2018 Tri-County Art Show student winners

The 23rd annual Tri-County Art Show presented by the Twin Valley Rotary Club was held at the Classic Auto Mall in Morgantown on April 13 to 15. The show presented the work of 25 area artists and 20 Twin Valley High School students.

Each year the Twin Valley Rotary Club awards $250 in cash prizes to the top four student entries.

Twin Valley School District receives grant for hands-on STEM Program

Students and teachers at the Twin Valley School District will soon have access to a curricular program that will give students an advantage in their education and future careers. The opportunity is made possible through a partnership between Bemis Company and Project Lead the Way (PLTW), a nonprofit organization that provides transformative learning experiences for K-12 students and teachers through pathways in computer science, engineering, and biomedical science.

Local Morgantown resident wins national recognition

Lisa Thomas, from the Kinder Care Learning Center in Exton and a Morgantown resident, has received the 2018 Terri Lynne Lokoff Children’s TYLENOL#xae; Children’s ZYRTEC#xae; National Child Care Teacher Award. This exemplary early care and education teacher was selected from a pool of applicants nationwide.
